Balcony of Europe, the caves, beating the sea

From last weeks I add a few more pictures from the sea resorts (Fuengirola and Nerja), where crowds of foreigners from all Europe (mostly Germans and English) come to get some bronze on their overworked bodies. Both resorts are based on kilometres of beautiful beaches offering place both lounging and diving, aquatic and adrenaline sports.
We saw the surfers that however didn't have such technique like those from "Bay watch", anyway we saw a few good rides.
As king Alfonso XII had seen the coastline with beautiful cliffs in Nerja, he named this place "balcony of Europe". We visited the caves by Nerja with magnificent stalactical decoration. Close to the caves we lost our way and got into the gypsy farmers' gardens. Thanks to that we could see nearly ripe alligator pears, bananas, fig-trees and other trees covered with fruit that we didn't know. On the photos is more an aquaduct standing in the river-basin (typically without water).
Finally I add pictures and a video from first bathing in the sea which didn't last a long time because of the spasms in all my body. It will need some heating up yet.

Balkón Evropy, jeskyně, pokoření moře

Z posledních týdnů přidávám ještě pár fotek z přímořských letovisek (Fuengirola a Nerja), kam se sjíždí cizinci z celé Evropy (hlavně němci, a angličani) aby nachytali trochu bronzu na svá upracovaná těla. Obě střediska se táhnou kilometry podél pobřeží a nabízí pláže jak pro klasické vyplesknutí se, tak pro potápění, vodní a různé adrenalinové sporty.
Konečně jsme viděli surfaře, kteří ovšem neměli takovou techniku jako týpci z "Pobřežní hlídky", ale nějaká slušnější jízda se za půl hodinky vidět dala.
Když viděl na konci devatenáctého století pobřeží s nádhernými útesy v letovisku "Nerja" nějaký král Alfonso XII, nazval prý toto místo "balkónem Evropy" (Alfonso na fotce s Jitkou). Dodneška se tu o tom povídá. Kousek od Nerjy jsme se byli podívat v jeskyních s parádní krápníkovou výzdobou. Nakonec jsme kousek od jeskyní zabloudili, díky čemuž jsme se dostali do zahrad místních farmářů, tam jsme objevili skoro zralé avokáda, banány, fíkovníky a další plodovníky, které u nás nejsou k vidění, takže ani nevíme co jsme vlastně viděli. Na fotkách je ještě akvadukt v korytu řeky (takhle tady vypadá většina řek - vodu v nich většinou nenajdete).
Na závěr příspěvek z prvního koupání ve Středozemním moři. Tentokrát jsem se odhodlal já, ve vodě jsem ale pro křeče v celém těle moc dlouho nepobyl. Ještě to bude chtít přihřát.

Donkey taxi in Mijas

Mijas is a small town, not far from the see, lying in the mountains, very popular for tourists. The idea of the donkey taxi arose this way: While the farmers used to go to the fields with the donkeys, from time to time some tourist came and asked for the picture with the donkey and he left some peso to the farmer. Somebody wanted to take a lift on the donkey or pose for the picture to his family album. The farmers realized that they earned more by using donkeys as the lift instead of plowing fields and cropping the onions ("burro" = donkey). Today you can come and take a lift for shopping on the donkey for some 10 euros.
We visited the bullring which is very small, about a quarter of those one in Malaga. Excuse me, but I had to put the sequence of pictures with Jirka-toreador.
To the south of Mijas you can take delight in the distant see coastline, to the north there are the rocky mountains. Because we had some waste time we climbed with Jitka nearly up to the highest peak of the mountain-range, the comeback to Mijas we managed accurately with the sunset. There was warning about the mountain goats and scorpions on the advise boards at the foothill of the mountain but although i was turning the rocks all the time, we hadn't seen any scorpion. At least two mountain goats came to see us at the end.

Oslí taxi v Mijas

Mijas je malé horské městečko ležící kousek od pobřeží, turisticky velmi oblíbené. Myšlenka oslího taxi vznikla asi takto: Když místní chodili s oslama na pole, občas se nějaký turista nechal s oslíkem vyfotit, nechal za to farmáři nějakou tu pesetu, pak se zas chtěl někdo na oslíkovi svézt, nebo si jen tak posedět a zapózovat, aby měly vnoučata co obdivovat. Farmáři zjistili, že víc vydělají, když budou osly využívat k vození turistů než orání a vození cibule ("burro" = osel). Dneska se můžete přijet odvézt na nákup na údajně vzácném plemeni osla za nějakých 10 euro.
Navštívili jsme býčí arénu, která je proti té v Malaze opravdu maličká, možná čtvrtinová. Promiňte, ale sekvenci s Šubčou - toreadorem jsem si nemohl odpustit.
Na jih od Mijas se můžete kochat pohledem na moře z dálky, na sever se pnou kamenité hory. Protože nám přišlo městečko málo, tak jsme se s Jitkou vyšplhali skoro na vrcholek celého pohoří, návrat vyšel akorát na setmění. Na informačních tabulích na úpatí hory bylo varování před kamzíky a škorpióny, šutry jsem zvedal co to šlo, ale nakonec jsme viděli jen dva kamzíky.

Weekend in Granada

I took my time with contributions to the blogg so I will remedy in a few days and add something from the experiences from last weeks.
We spent a weekend with my friends in Granada. It is a beautiful town with lots to see. The most famous is a complex of the Moorish palaces, fortresses and gardens (unfortunately the gardens are not in the season yet) Alhambra. Here it is to be prepared for crowds of tourists, especial those of Asian, who make the compact blocks effectively. It is worth to climb the hill Albaicín on which side are the caves settled by gypsies since long ago. From uphill it is an amazing view of Sierra Nevada mountain-range and of the town. At the arabic markets you can spend ages and good money. The centre of the city is vivid, full of artists waiting for tourists' change. Besides there are plenty of churches with a huge cathedral at the head. Anyway the most impressive is the view of the snowy Sierra Nevada. Find a few pictures and two videos below.
